Where did I leave off?

Ok, last we heard, The doc told me I had a non working vocal cord.
So, there are a few reasons , maybe, why this happened ( they think)

To rule those reasons out, you have to do tests.

1st up, was a CT scan
I was a little nevious, as I had not had a ct scan before and was
not really sure what they would find in my skull.
The good news was, I had a brain, the bad, I had a large mass on my thyroid

Yahoo, they found a mass on my Thyroid.
Maybe this is causing it.
Wait, it could be cancer? let's retract that Yahoo.

2ed up, was a needle biopsy .

Not too bad, except from the needles they stick in your neck!
They drew out a few needles worth of fluid
they also stuck the needle in a lot to make sure they had a good sample.
But really, not that bad.

I had a big trade show in Las Vegas coming up, 7 days of media events and floor work.
I still was as raspy as a old rusty saw, but you have to pay the bills.
They scheduled the biopsy for the day before I left for LV, with the results due when I got back.

Although I put on a game face, I was scared out of my mind.
From Saturday until Wednesday every other thought was about the results.
Late Wednesday I got a call, the call I had hoped for, it was benign.

I will admit I sat down and bawled like a baby.
I really did not know how much it was eating at me until I had the results.
I had to go back to the hotel and collapse.
It really had taken every thing I had to keep up a happy face and a smile those days waiting.
By Friday I was running a 103 temp and was sick as a dog, it had really taken everyting right out of me.
It was not the best flight home on Saturday,  9 hrs of planes and layovers.
I just tucked my head down and kept plowing though till I got home.

Mid Febuary, I went under the knife.
They had drained the cyst they found, but it had filled up again to the size of a golf ball.
They took out my left Thyroid.
What a adventure!
As I was laying on the table ready to be put under, somehow, someone splashed alcohol
all over the left side of my face and head, and it was not even a good bourbon.
Not being able to talk, I had to lay there and soak in it.
That gives you a huge jolt of confidence as you start to slip under.

They also tell you they have to be real careful because they have to incubate you
during the surgery, and they have to time it just right to get the tube out right as your coming awake.
But, if you wake up while they are pulling it, try not to thrash around as you could do damage!!!!!

Oh ya, I am ready now, scared crapless about the tube, marinated in alcohol
LETS DO THIS!

They say when I woke up, I told them I could walk to recovery.
Yes, I am just that bad, or it was the morphine talking.

I waited and waited to talk, I just knew it was going to be better,
raspy from the tube down my throat, but better.

Nope.

Now about three weeks later,
something strange happened.

Lets save that till tomorrow.
